The brief began with a question, not a plan — how should this family live in this place, in this climate, with this much light?

We mapped the sun and wind first. Verandas, courtyards, and deep overhangs followed. Each room was placed to catch breeze and dawn light, while keeping the harsh western sun off the living spaces.

Materials were chosen locally — exposed brick, lime plaster, kota stone, reclaimed teak. Each carries the imprint of the hands that worked it.

The result is a home that is unmistakably contemporary but rooted — the kind of place where the air feels different the moment you step in.
